Publishers' Discount Offer

To demonstrate their commitment to promoting the use of ebooks in libraries, a group of leading publishers is offering purchase incentives to libraries on their titles. They have released a significant portion of their in-print lists through the CEL. And some are releasing current frontlist, which will be included in the offer as it becomes available.

This is an ideal way to build an online collection of Canadiana that will be owned by your library system in perpetuity.

Over 2,000 titles, primarily Canadian non-fiction, are currently included in the offer. Although some are available for library licensing from ebook vendors on a title-by-title basis, these titles have never before been offered in an online package.

Since 1972, Dundurn Press and its associated imprints have published more than 2000 titles, of which 1700 are still in print. Dundurn publishes about ninety to one hundred new titles per year and is now one of the largest publishers of adult and young adult fiction and non-fiction in Canada.

One of Canada’s largest independent houses, D&M Publishers has created over 2,000 quality books in four decades and continues to nurture a rich backlist of more than 700 titles, including many Canadian classics.

ECW PressOne of the most diversified independent publishers in North America, ECW Press has published close to 1,000 books that are distributed throughout the English-speaking world and translated into dozens of languages.

New Society PublishersNew Society Publishers has been publishing books to build a new society for over 30 years. We are an activist, solutions-oriented publisher focused on bringing you tools for a world of change.

UlyssesCanada’s leading travel publisher, Ulysses has released its entire collection of online travel guides as a CEL collection.

The Order Process

For libraries already possessing an ebrary or Canadian Electronic Library channel, the delivery process is simple and straightforward; purchased titles will be activated and available to all users in your system without any administrative overhead. For libraries new to ebrary/CEL, we will have a channel built and registered to your IP range(s). In either case this process will normally take no more than 3 to 5 working days.

Subsequently we will provide user assistance and staff training as required.

All titles are accompanied with free MARC records for OPAC loading to stimulate use.
